Clarity

if you are a person
your only job
is the danger of course

we know who
the people are
who ruined everything

who want the world
over the past several years
it is clear

clearly an act
of insanity
in its understated irony

certain terms
are sanctified
it’s easy to be paralyzed

this is a way
of saying
extreme clarity is a mystery

Pamela Hobart Carter loves Seattle as much for its water and mountains as for its bustle and creativity. She explores the Emerald City daily while walking her dog. Carter used to be a teacher who wrote on the side. Now she is a writer who teaches on the side.
