Haiku 65

I lie still…
game breeze
combs my hair

I’m a poor host–
some of my books
can’t stand up straight

Rain…?
Or just wind
clacking the leaves?

Slow July…
water pauses
in the sink

Downtown Jesus…
spiderweb,
cheek to shoulder

Lying flat…
hoping to catch
galactic drift

That gravel beach,
instantly damp–
dog shaking off

Evening courtyard…
dachshund squeaks
beyond the fence

Afternoon shade…
pigeon pecks
between street seams

Monday–
truck roars, confident
for the week

Late July…
two dandelion seeds
dance the wind

Switch off the alarm!
perforce, to save
one dream
