Two Poems

Elegy 2

between rain and snow
between summer and winter

a lone leaf was falling

between here and there
between now and then

a lone leaf was falling

it was you
alone

I Have A Dream!
(after Martin Luther King)

I heard a resounding voice
from the burning sky
over the ruined city
“I have a dream!”

I heard a shrieking voice
from the pall of smoke
as bombs exploded in silence
“I have a dream!”

it was a nightmare
and in that nightmare
I heard a hollow voice
“I have no dream!”
