Those who know me also know I crusade regularly against bad science fiction in popular culture. They also know that I am not a Doctor Who fan by any stretch of the imagination. Probably, then, there will be some surprise in the ranks that I have only glowing things to say about the new audio drama, The Minister of Chance.
Tuesday, March 13th brought the premiere of NBC’s new reality show, Fashion Star. Seattle is represented by not one, but two designers on Fashion Star. Lizzie Parker, who sells her line out of her boutique in Kirkland and Lisa Vian Hunter who has a lovely shop in Madison Park.
Breaking news! Not one, but two Seattle designers made the cast of NBC’s new fashion-slanted-reality-competition-show, Fashion Star. Sounds like bragging rights to me!
Though there are venues for local filmmakers to present the fruits of their labor, it could hardly be said that opportunities to reach a large audience are plentiful in the area. KCTS’s Reel NW, a program that’s a little over a year old, represents a rare chance to show a project to a potential audience that reaches most of Western Washington; this last Monday, they aired four short subject films.
